Description

you've seen the rest, now see the best... if you're reading this you probably already know the story of the Pepper's rarest release, the very first issue and most sought after 'fourth proof cover'. This copy came from a MINT and UNPLAYED record collection from Sweden, all in stunning condition, tucked away 50 years ago and barely seeing the light of day since.
Now offered complete and unmolested, this original LP is a beautiful and extraordinary near MINT example, with NO spindle marks on either pristine label, and as far as I can see there are just a few barely imperceptible, very light paper hairlines on the unplayed vinyl. The Side Two label shows the 'K T' notations. The stampers are 'ADC' (Side One) and 'OPR' on Side Two. Matrices XEX 637-1 and XEX 638-1.
The cover spine - always the first part of Pepper's to see any wear, feels slightly rough to the touch but is all complete and virtually as issued. The inner part of the gatefold shows George's tunic sleeves in pink, John's in yellow, these are pre-general production colours not seen on the general release. We have the upside-down 'FOURTH PROOF' text above George's head, and nearer the spine the 'AR D13127' text - the '7' hardly ever shows on these but the bottom part still exists on this one where the flip-over has been cut off. It is again in MINT order. The 'patents pending' text on the rear testifies to this pre-production issue. There is one one inch laminate crease on the front cover at the bottom, extremely minor, and none on the reverse. No damage at all to the corners.
The insert shows the dark green colour, in MINT, with 'Printed in England' text. The original inner sleeve has no splits, a NEAR MINT condition. This one also comes with a twelve inch light card card stiffener original to its issue, again MINT.
I will send anywhere in the world at my cost, returns accepted within 14 days of course (but why would you want to return what is probably the very finest example anywhere of the rarest Pepper's issue?), that would be at your cost however and would need to be fully insured.
