Beatles : Dick James Acetate : She Loves you

Beatles : Dick James : two sided Acetate  ”She Loves You / I’ll Get you”

This is a peculiar beast as far as acetates go as it does not come on a normal “metal core” Acetate but rather it seems to have been made with a normal 45 , as you can see when I hold it up to a bright light you can see the 4-pronged push out centre beneath the “Dick James” label.

I have done some investigations many years ago with Beatles Acetate expert Chazz Avery who runs the “Beatles acetates” site “Beatles source” and this is what he reckons it may be , and I quote

Quote ....“The label design would suggest that this disc dates circa 1966-67. In 1966, Geoff Emerick made some duofonic stereo mixes of "She Loves You" but a disc dating from 1967 is a mystery. There is no way to tell the real purpose of this disc.” .....Unquote

The record that appears on his website (check out the link) is the very record I am selling here.

It is in VG condition with quite a few light marks on both sides and a few heavier ones too but both sides play through fine.

If anyone has any extra info on this oddity then please feel free to email me and fill me in on any details

In answer to a query about any “dead wax” stamped matrix numbers stamped in this  record the answer is as follows :-

I’ve tried to take some micro photos of both sides as a far as  I can tell they read as follows : She loves you : 7XCF 1739-IN ......I’ll Get You : 7XCF 1735-IN

, also the “F” maybe actually be an “E”..”
