Description

BLO - " PHASE IV ", Afrodisia/Decca (WA) Ltd. (DWAPS 2009) Stereo, 1976.

Exceedingly rare, 1976, Afro-Funk LP by Nigerian Band "Blo", released here in the UK on the Decca "Afrodisia" label.

English issue and pressing.

Professionally cleaned on my Moth record cleaning machine and then put in a fresh new poly-lined inner sleeve (the original inner sleeve has also been kept and will be included with this item).

NOTE: this record is one of a collection I have just bought from an ex-Decca employee. All the records in his collection were samples of records pressed by Decca in England or licenced by Decca to be pressed and sold in other countries around the world. Essentially, these LPs are quality control testers - by this, I do not mean pre-release promo test pressings, but normal commercial issues randomly selected by Decca to make sure their high standards were being kept up. Generally, these LPs have hardly been played... many have clearly had no more than a couple of quick test-plays. Even those which have clearly been used a bit more, have very well looked after and only ever played on a good quality, well set up turntable. Please read the condition description below for acurate detail on the condition of this particular LP.

CONDITION:

VINYL =  NEAR MINT CONDITION (No scratches, no marks, no groove damage, only the very lightest of spindle trails, no surface noise, etc. Even under a bright grading lamp, this LP is free from paper scuffs and any other visible imperfections. I generally shy away from terms like 'near mint' on eBay, but this records really does look and sound just like new. I know it's had one test play by me and at least one by it's original owner, but I doubt it's had many more spins in it's entire lifetime. Must be one of the best examples of this LP left in existence.

Note: for the purposes of this listing I have tested this LP on my Linn LP12 Sondek turntable - generally this is quite a critical test, but I must point out that I cannot guarantee exactly how this LP will sound on your turntable - common sense for most... but then this is ebay!!!)

SLEEVE = EXCELLENT (No rips, tears, creases, defacing, heavy ring-wear, etc. Just some very light wear to the corners, including a minute bit of delamination to the top right corner, aslo the white rear sleeve is not quite a clean as it once was. All wear from time in storage rather than use and abuse - see photos for further clarification)

NOTE: I must point out that we are actually a long standing physical record shop, with many decades worth of selling, trading and grading records under our collective belts. Unlike so many of the jokers now selling records on ebay, we know how to grade records. Before bidding, please read my description carefully, decide how much this record is worth to you and place you max bid accordingly. Please also feel free to check out my feedback from the many other successful transactions I have made in the past.

HAPPY BIDDING!!!!!

Since this LP didn't sell last week, I've had a few different direct offers of wildly varying prices. Looking popsike.com, other copies have sold for between $100 for pretty rough copies and up to $200 for V.G.+ to EX copies... I'm surprised this LP (in better condition than any on popsike), didn't make it's £100 start price but I guess times are hard right now. So, based on that thought, I am relisting it at 99p start price and will be happy whatever it eventually sells for. Good luck.
