En quatre volumes – un triple album – trois doubles albums – la légendaire série de concerts que Duke Ellington donna au Carnegie Hall  de New York en 1943, 1944, 1946, 1947,éditée par le célèbre label Prestige

 

Le Concert de 1943 présente la première version, celle de la création,  de la célèbre suite Black, Brown and Beige, elle ne fût jamais plus enregistrée sous cette forme par l’orchestre.

 

Ces concerts étaient souvent l’occasion pour Ellington de présenter de nouvelles créations au public : Black, Brown and Beige en 1943, The Perfume Suite en 1944, The Liberian Suite en 1947…
